Eta is designed to help users manage personal expenses while minimizing data collection.
Eta does not collect, sell, share, or transmit your personal data to the developer or any third party. The app does not use advertising, analytics, or tracking technologies.
Your expense records, categories, budgets, recurring expenses, and receipt images are stored on your device.
Eta may use Apple's iCloud service to sync your data across your Apple devices. Synced data is stored in your private iCloud account and is handled by Apple according to Apple's privacy practices. The developer does not have access to your synced data.
When you enable Apple Intelligence features in Eta, the app may process expense text, amount, merchant or item names, currency, dates, and local category names to parse expenses and suggest categories.
This processing is performed on your device using Apple's Foundation Models framework / Apple Intelligence. Eta does not send this information to the developer, to a developer-operated server, or to any third-party AI service.
Apple Intelligence features are optional and disabled by default. You can enable or disable them in Eta's Settings.
If Apple Intelligence is disabled or unavailable, Eta uses local rule-based parsing and category matching instead. This fallback also runs on your device and does not send your data to Eta or any third-party AI service.
Receipt text recognition is performed on your device using Apple frameworks. Eta does not upload receipt images or receipt information to a developer-operated server.
Eta may request access to your camera to scan receipts. You may also choose receipt images from your photo library.
Eta may request notification permission only when you enable recurring expense reminders. Notifications are optional.
You can manage these permissions in the Settings app on your device.
Eta does not integrate third-party advertising, analytics, tracking, or third-party AI services.
If you enable iCloud sync, your data is synced through Apple's iCloud service and stored in your private iCloud account. The developer does not have access to this data.
